What Is Direct Primary Care?
An insurance alternative or supplement, or what?
If you don't have insurance or want to find an alternative, it is worth looking into a couple of options that association members have shared with us.
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an alternative way to pay for medical care that doesn't involve insurance claims. Instead, patients pay small periodic fees directly to their provider. DPC typically covers routine screenings, chronic condition management, and acute-care visits, and some medical tests may be included in the membership fee depending on the agreement. You can learn more from the Texas Public Policy Foundation here.

There are also surgery centers which have transparent pricing. You prepay for your operation (cash) and if it costs more, they write off the extra expense, they do not bill you again. Here is one we found in Oklahoma.

Medical care costs can be so high. If you are struggling with them, please talk to an association member so we can see if there is anything in your area that another member has recommended or if we can find someone to make a recommendation.
As the association grows we would like to offer various types of insurance to our members at highly discounted rates so keep an eye out for that.
